Do ya worship the tuatha dé danann ?

marzipanandminutiae:

That depends on whether you interpret the pre-Christian Irish gods as tuatha de. If you do, then yes. I generally see the gods as distinct from the Fair Folk, which is what some people mean when the talk about tuatha de danann, though I don’t find any inherent contradiction in the idea that they’re the same basic type of beings. Also whether the tuatha de danann are Fair Folk, gods, heroes, or a race that contains varying combinations of the three depends on which commentator you read; there are contradicting interpretations enough to make your head spin. And all the commentators whose writings we still have were Christian, which complicates things even further.

If you mean the Fair Folk exclusively, then no. I respect them and I give offerings to them if I want to ask something specific of them or if they’ve helped me in some way. Some I even love and have a personal relationship with, sort of, in a “can’t spell ‘scare’ without ‘care’ ” kind of way. But I don’t worship them.
